“I am so let's go. Get involved,” Tua Tagovailoa said earlier this week when asked about Thursday night’s cold-weather game.
The Dolphins are leaving their usual sunshine in South Florida and playing in probably the coldest away place the league has to offer: Green Bay.
Last season, the Dolphins' promising season ended quickly with a 26-7 playoff loss to the Chiefs in the blistering cold at Arrowhead Stadium. The Dolphins are 4-7 on the road in November and December over the last two years under Mike McDaniel, and this Thursday will likely be one of the coldest they've ever faced.
But the weather isn't the only narrative setting the stage Thursday evening.
Miami recently faced criticism from former starting safety DeShon Elliott, who referred to the team as “…” . This upcoming game in Green Bay's frigid temperatures offers Miami an opportunity to prove them wrong.
Another common narrative is that the Dolphins can't get wins against opponents. The 2024 season was no exception. None of the Dolphins' five wins came against a team with a winning record, a trend they struggled with for most of last season.
It won't be hard for anyone to take the Dolphins seriously as a Super Bowl contender unless they can beat other good teams. They have another chance to do this on Thursday evening.
